While the final round of qualifying was underway at the Rogers Cup on Sunday, our Jimmie48 was busy catching up with top players who arrived in Toronto on the eve of the Premier 5 tournament.
Maria Sharapova was spotted practicing with hitting partner Alex Kuznetsov, as she awaits her first match since retiring from her Wimbledon opener because of a wrist injury. After traveling Europe with boyfriend Alexander Gilkes, the Russian will take the court already on Monday evening, as she goes up against seed No.16 Anett Kontaveit of Estonia.
Reigning Wimbledon champion Simona Halep and runner-up Serena Williams are also in town, awaiting their first matches on the US Open Series hardcourts this season.
World No.1 Ashleigh Barty, Naomi Osaka, Elina Svitolina, Karolina Pliskova, Sloane Stephens, Julia Goerges, Madison Keys, Belinda Bencic, and Kiki Bertens were all captured by the lens of our photographer, either as they practiced, or answered media questions during the All-Access Hour.
