Counting down to Wimbledon, the WTA players hit the purple carpet for the Dubai Duty Free WTA Summer Party at Jumeirah Carlton Tower in London on Friday night.

Caroline Wozniacki and David Lee made their first “red-carpet” appearance as a married couple. The former world No.1 dazzled in a white long-sleeved dress featuring a large back cutout. The tight dress was perfectly coordinated with her long straight blond hair. Caro looked stunning, resembling J Lo from the early days of her career.

I hope that tennis fashion designers are taking notes, as Naomi Osaka‘s unconventional white David Koma dress is a good inspiration for next year’s Wimbledon. A bikini top and ruffled skirt are interconnected with a polka-dot mesh.

This is one of my all-time favorite glamorous off-court WTA dresses. Maria Sharapova has worn David Koma on numerous occasions and those looks are also on my fabulous fashion list.

Just as I’m beginning to write that Donna Vekic is my third best-dressed star of the evening, I go to her Instagram to check the designer of the dress and again it’s David Koma. Wow! Stylist Sarah Rose picked the black serpent dress for the 23-year-old on her birthday.

Before she switches to her Stella McCartney tennis whites, Garbine Muguruza looked confident and elegant in a long sleeveless color-block dress.

Eugenie Bouchard opted for Versace’s bold pattern that includes a zebra print. Matching shoes, deep slit skirt and off-shoulder top make this the most eye-catching look of the evening.

Heather Watson wore a flirty red lingerie dress and strappy platform heels.

Elina Svitolina chose a white Escada suit for the occasion. The tennis star looked like a businesswoman that she is, while her boyfriend Gael Monfils opted for a casual outfit that did match his girlfriend’s when it comes to colors. Briton Johanna Konta picked a very unique Hellessy suit with slit sleeves and Manolo Blahnik shoes.

After gathering on the purple carpet, the players are now turning to the green lawns of the All-England Club for the start of Wimbledon.

  1. Actually, I don’t lika Naomi’s dress – the mesh interconnection between the ruffled skirt and the second, long skirt doesn’t work IMO. But I do completely agree on the tennis dress connection – just cut off the long mesh skirt, keep the ruffled one and voilà, you have a tennis dress ready for Wimbledon 🙂 . Both Vekic’s, Bouchard’s and Watson’s dresses look a bit vulgar – pity. Wozniacki looks the best!

  2. Claire, I think Naomi’s dress is stunning as it is, although if I had to pick which dress I’d wear, it would definitely be Caro’s. I agree that Donna’s dress is provocative, but she nevertheless looks amazing. Genie’s print is too much for me, and somehow outdated.

  3. As usual Garbine is the only one that looks really classy and stylish. Caroline and Naomi not too bad – Naomi’s dress is only suitable for a very young woman, and I agree might work better without the bottom layer. Watson and Vekic tacky, but what’s new. Svitolina and Konta – a double breasted pantsuit suits NOBODY, and Johanna’s is particularly unflattering. And Eugenie Bouchard just looks like a train wreck, also as usual.

  4. CLT, Naomi is very young, so the dress really suits her. I can understand that not everyone likes it, but I find it really interesting and cute. I wouldn’t opt for a suit as Elina and Johanna, but I don’t think they look bad, especially Elina, it’s a neutral business suit. I’ve noticed that Genie has been all about flashing expensive brands in recent years and not that much about style.

  5. You should check Katerina Siniakova’s dress. She looks amazing. A bit like a young Taylor Swift with that curly hair!!

  6. Actually, Svitolina’s and Konta’s suits look like pyjamas to me, and Muguruza’s looks like that kind that is supposed to make you look thinner (not that she needs it). I didn’t write it previously, though, since I didn’t want to sound TOO negative… ;). Quite curious about Siniakova’s dress!

  7. Alifsafar Ali Bin Zohor Ali, I agree she resembles Taylor Swift a bit, but I don’t like the dress, too much material hanging on her body.

Claire, as I see them, Svitolina’s and Konta’s suits are completely different. Svitolina’s is typical business attire, while Konta’s looks like a karate uniform with that black belt.

  8. All of what I’ve read are mere opinions based upon one’s personal taste in fashion. Not that it matters, but IMO, Caroline (her hubby looks fab also) looks the classiest of them all, as well as the most appropriately dressed. I didn’t even know who Heather Watson was here! She and Naomi with their flat ironed hair were almost unrecognizable. Nice to see a change in hair style ever so often, but sheesh, is Heather and the others who are scantly and provocatively dressed in these photos trying to catch a man or a pole (as in stripper pole)? They pay all that money for those so-called designer clothes and still look tacky with a capital T! At least Garbine is fully clothed and not revealing any body parts. Genie’s dress is okay with the exception of all her flesh exposed, so unnecessarily so (did she intentionally let the back fall off to reveal her braless back or what/SMH). And all this wearing a blazer (women) with no bra or anything underneath is the tackiest trend of all. Somebody needs to teach these millennials about class, integrity, morals, modesty, and high values ASAP!

  9. Fee, Caro & her husband are definitely the classiest here and the most beautiful. He looks like a real, mature man. I don’t mind flat-ironed hair at all, but I’ll have to agree about Heather’s pole-searching dress. 😛
