Wednesday at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships was all about third-round matches and eight players made their way into the quarterfinals. Of course, our Jimmie48 was on the spot to photograph almost everything!

Second seed Petra Kvitova was crushed 6-1 in the second set by American qualifier Jennifer Brady, but the Czech eventually pulled off a victory in two hours and 12 minutes, while third seed Simona Halep got past Lesia Tsurenko in straight sets.

Hsieh Su-wei won 12 of the last 13 points to beat fifth seed and reigning Wimbledon champ Angelique Kerber, bageling the German in the third set, fourth seed Karolina Pliskova prevailed in two tiebreaks against Alison Riske, and Viktoria Kuzmova recovered from a 6-1 deficit to beat Sofia Kenin 1-6 7-5 6-2.
