Eight-time doubles Grand Slam champion Bethanie Mattek-Sands is famous for her eccentric on-court fashion and now the tennis star is partnering with brand Lucky in Love as a designer of a series of limited-edition capsule collections which will debut in 2019.

Lucky in Love has always stood out with bold prints and variety of styles, so it’s no surprise that they chose Bethanie to enrich their offer. Back in December 2014, I presented a plethora of outstanding patterns and cuts that Lucky in Love offered at the time and one reader commented “Perfect for Bethanie and Serena”. Lucky in Love apparently recognized that Bethanie’s vibe aligns with their versatile and vibrant designs, as the company’s CEO and founder Brad Singer confirmed by stating:

We pride ourselves on taking a unique twist to traditional tennis wear, and we feel that Bethanie’s style perfectly resonates with our brand.

Tube socks and printed items are Bethanie’s fashion staples, as we can see in this photo of her winning the 2018 US Open mixed doubles title with Jamie Murray.

The first in the series of Bethanie’s collections — the Australian Open Capsule collection — is inspired by the American’s eclectic style and bold tattoos. It will debut on January 1st, 2019, while it will be available for pre-order starting December 15th. The collaboration is set to introduce a new high-waist skirt, mesh crop tops and a limited-edition bomber jacket paying homage to Australia’s blackbird.

Bethanie also loves fringe skirts

With this Lucky in Love colab, Bethanie is joining a number of WTA players who have already tried themselves out in the world of tennis fashion, most notably Venus Williams (EleVen), Martina Hingis (Tonic) and Marion Bartoli (Fila), but also Kirsten Flipkens, Sania Mirza, Chris Evert, Dominika Cibulkova, and Tsvetana Pironkova.
