Serena Williams is not playing this week’s Internazionali BNL d’Italia in Rome, still getting in shape after her maternity leave, so she was able to attend the marriage of her friend Meghan Markle and Prince Harry in Windsor on Saturday. Accompanied by her husband Alexis Ohanian, the American was the only tennis star at the royal wedding and she documented the big day in her Instagram stories.
Serena wore a pink asymmetric Versace dress that dropped just below knees, a matching sculptural headpiece, while she pushed the boundaries of traditional royal wedding looks by sporting extra long braids. The tennis goddess accessorized with a Bulgary necklace from the Heritage collection.
After the wedding ceremony at Windsor Castle, Serena and Alexis relaxed in their casual clothes and took a little break, taking a stroll with their baby daughter Olympia. In the evening, Serena switched to a stunning Valentino dress — the top is a simple black strappy design, while the long skirt captivates with its large flowers.
Meanwhile, Serena’s WTA colleagues got all emotional watching the wedding on TV:
Meghan and Serena met in 2014 and “hit it off immediately”, as the actress and now a member of the royal family previously revealed on her lifestyle blog which is now inactive.
