Serena Williams joined the WTA’s wedding trend by getting engaged to Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian in Rome in December last year, while now she’s also joining the WTA’s baby boom! The tennis queen is 20 weeks pregnant and she let us know by exposing her growing belly on Snapchat.
The snap with caption “20 weeks”, which was deleted just minutes after going live, shows the 35-year-old Serena in a yellow swimsuit and her small baby bump. All the media outlets are reporting the breaking news, so I hope it’s not Serena joking as to how much she ate.
Serena won the 2017 Australian Open in late January, so it turns out she was already pregnant at the time and she must have known she was pregnant! Actually, she was already about two months pregnant when she lifted the champion’s trophy in Melbourne and when she got engaged she was about one month pregnant.
UPDATE: Serena’s publicist Kelly Bush Novak confirmed the pregnancy!

Jim, by the time they grow up, 40 may be the new 20 😀 I’ve been writing WTB for ten years and this is definitely the first baby boom we’re experiencing at the WTA.
I thought it was only a joke and when I read that it was already confirmed, I was so happy for Serena. She became a GS champion as a pregnant woman. So I think we’ll hear wedding bells soon. 🙂
