Photos from the Australian Open: Sharapova & Serena move on, Kvitova out

The second round of the 2016 Australian Open started on Wednesday in Melbourne, continuing the string of high-profile upsets, with Petra Kvitova failing to make the tournament’s third round, losing to Australia’s Daria Gavrilova.

Maria Sharapova & Serena Williams had a lot less trouble on their way into the later stages of the new year’s first Grand Slam, as both won their second-round matches in straight sets.

Fantastic action photos as usual Jimmie. Do especially like the photo of Puig and her new color scheme Ellesse outfit. And congrats to her on her hard fought 3 set win over the “other” Pliskova twin!

Also, great photo of Han with the extreme western grip. It amazes me how they hit the ball like that! But, of course I am old school and prefer the Continental grip.

I don’t know whether Bouchard’s outfit is a dress or top?! It’s a good design but too short. Personally, it’s too short and too skimpy.

Kueyseyra, officially it’s a dress. Although, it should’ve had a dropped skirt back, while in action it seems that the back is even shorter than the front. :/
