It has sure been a busy month for tennis player Elena Vesnina. The 29-year-old and her Russian teammates lost a battle for the Fed Cup title last week, while yesterday in Moscow she tied the knot with a lot of her colleagues in attendance at the wedding ceremony.
While Vesnina herself has been silent about her nuptials, with no updates on social media or even any pictures with her new husband, photos and a couple of videos were leaked on the internet of certain guests attending and a few details from the celebration.
Part of the celebration took place at Moscow’s Crocus City Hall, as some familiar tennis figures shared pictures congratulating the happy newlyweds.
Among these tennis guests were Nikolay Davydenko with wife Irina, Anastasia Myskina, Elena Dementieva, Ekaterina Makarova, Vera Zvonareva, and siblings Dinara Safina and Marat Safin.
Photos on Twitter showed Vesnina’s dress to be lacy and princess-like with a long and delicate train, which was cared for by two adorable little helpers. The ambiance of the Hall also seemed magical, with white confetti streaming from the ceiling during the couple’s first dance.
From the help of Vesnina’s famous guests, we have identified her husband’s name to be Pavel. We congratulate Elena and Pavel and will archive their nuptials in our WTA Players and their Love Partners page. Hopefully we will learn more about Pavel this coming year.
