Daniela Hantuchova turns 32 today! Happy birthday! A great occasion for me to share in my Little Tennis Stars section this old photo of the Slovak, that I’ve had in my archives for years.
The WTA veteran is not in the limelight so much any more, and her ranking is now modest No.50 compared to her career-high of No.5 that she reached 12 years ago, but that doesn’t mean that the Slovak is not adding achievements to her résumé. Earlier this year Hantuchova clinched her third PTT Thailand Open title, the seventh WTA winner’s trophy since she turned pro in 1999.
Hantuchova is not only a great tennis player with sleek figure. She studied classical piano from ages 6 and 14 and we even got to hear her play at an exhibition event in Bratislava a year and a half ago. Moreover, Hantuchova has a charity called the DH Foundation, benefiting causes in Slovakia and around the world, especially Cambodia.
