Maria Sharapova beat the competition of Serena Williams, Li Na and Agnieszka Radwanska in the Best Female Tennis Player category at the 2014 ESPY Awards. Accompanied by boyfriend Grigor Dimitrov, Sharapova attended the award ceremony in an Antonio Berardi dress and Walter Steigner shoes (picked from the collection below! :)).

During the show at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, the five-time Grand Slam champion also presented the award for Best Game with the boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. The host of the program was rapper Drake.

This is the fifth time that the Russian has won the award, having also been honored in 2005, 2007, 2008 and 2012.

As for other women’s tennis players in attendance, only Sloane Stephens was there, with her brother. (via: Sports Illustrated)

Sorciere, I actually think Maria worked it well, although I would never wear it.

Even with a lousy year, Serena is still ranked number 1! Simona Halep should have won that ESPY, hands down! Sharapova has a track record of making it to grand slam finals and rarely winning. She hasn’t beat Serena in 10 consecutive years, and that’s pitiful. The Blonde haired, blue-eyed Russian is still so overrated. American folk rant and rave over her, as if she’s representing them. All she’s repping is ya’ll’s money and that’s for sure. Take several seats, Maria!

Well, Halep didn’t win a slam, as far as I know, while Maria did! And by the way Maria has green eyes…

Because the award covers July 2013 to July 2014, Serena still deserved to win. She not only won the U.S. Open, but also the year-end championships and Miami. But the ESPYs are a joke. Rafa wasn’t even nominated for comeback player of the year.

Wasn’t crazy about the dress, but loved her hair extensions. She certainly beats Serena in the hair extension category.

No way should Maria beat Serena as the best tennis player. Even past champion players recognize her as the best female tennis player ever. Politics again rears it’s ugly head!

The ESPY is not the best sports award in the world…it is more like the People choice awards…Laureus World Sports Awards is the award that matters…and surprise surprise…Maria has never won it…Serena has….twice.
