Leopard meets pink in Serena Williams’ US Open 2014 dress

Yesterday I showed you the subtle blue Nike tank and high-waisted skort with embossed dot print that Maria Sharapova is about to wear in the coming period and today Women’s Tennis Blog’s reader Mary revealed to me the pink leopard Nike dress that Serena Williams will most probably work at the 2014 US Open.

Unlike Sharapova, who is sporting toned-down outfits suitable for everyday practice, Serena Williams’ new Nike dress brings that shock factor that we expect from fashion-loving top stars. Is Bethanie Mattek Sands the designer behind this new Nike line? 🙂 I mean, leopard print and pink! Who else could have thought of that? 🙂

The dress is available at Tennis Warehouse, while if you’re in Europe you can find it at Tennis Warehouse Europe.

The group of clothes also features Nike Women’s Fall Graphic Burnout Tank with a lower scoop cut on back in fuchsia, purple, grey and black.

And if you like this print, but don’t have the courage to let it dominate your look, you can bring the edge with these wristbands, currently available for $10.

Let me remind you that new Sharapova’s separates also exist in fuchsia, while Ana Ivanovic’s Adidas Adizero US Open dress exists in pink and black. Moreover, Fila’s Fall Baseline Group and Fall Lawn Group both feature pink dresses, tanks and skorts.

Well this is… different. I really want to see how this looks on Serena on court. It should be interesting.

But I’m really glad that Nike has created something new because their latest designs have been just boooring, especially for Serena. Although the polo-type-of-tank designed for Azarenka was fun!

Even though this print is not as sellable as more simple looks, I think Serena will rock it and I’m really glad that Nike has finally brought something interesting.

I think this is very Serena & a throw back to her earlier days when she wore a lot of crazy stuff (maybe her famous cat suit would suit the leopard print?!?!) I hope she paints her nails to match & wears a cat ear headband with pink diamonds – she needs to brighten up what’s been a dull year so far for her .. & yes, I quite like the dress – its purrfect

PeteTweet, I agree. It’s been a long dull period in Serena’s wardrobe, while her style is much more fun and risk-loving.

Mashafan, oh I love the polo+shorts combo! Hmm, I’ll see whether I’ll feature Vika’s outfit too, I need to have balance with tennis fashion on my blog, at least I think so. I’ve already wrote about quite a bit of Nike. I’ll see, maybe I change my mind 🙂
