Laura Robson was widely tipped to make an upset in the first round of Roland Garros against tenth seed and fellow Stella McCartney fashion representative Caroline Wozniacki, but the Dane, who has lost herself in search of a suitable coach, scored her first victory after five consecutive losses, with the score 6-3 6-2.

Failing to convert a couple of chances to break Wozniacki early in the match and twice handing her opponent breaks with double faults, the British number one was sent home with 39 unforced errors and 25 winners to her name, contrasted by Wozniacki’s 10 unforced errors to 11 winners.

Fashion info: Both Robson and Wozniacki are wearing the Adidas by Stella McCartney Barricade line. Robson sported the white and very dark blue cap sleeve and skort with back pleats, while Wozniacki worked a fresh blue, white and yellow dress with elastic tank straps.

  1. Yay! So happy for Caro. It was great win for her and a major confident boost.

You guys think Caro can beat Jovanovski (whom she’ll be meeting in the second round) this time? I do. And in straight sets too.

PS. Caro’s outfit is MUCH better than what she wore last year at the French Open. But I still prefer the white/yellow AO dress. 😀

  2. I hope she will get her revenge against Jovanovski. It’s about time she stopped losing to the lower ranked players all the time.

Her dress is quite pretty but that’s not what is important now. What matters is that she wears it for more than 1-2 rounds…
