Nike inspired by Eiffel Tower for Sharapova’s French Open dress

I always love it how Maria Sharapova‘s Grand Slam dresses have a special story and inspiration behind them and for the 2011 French Open the Nike team came up with a collection revolving around Paris and its Eiffel Tower. My all-time favorites still remain the 2007 US Open dresses and their New York skyline.

The yellow Nike dress for the summer and clay courts is especially focused on the freedom of movement and breathability. Throughout the season Nike has opted for non-aggressive, light colors for Sharapova, and designs that are not unconventional, but still offer a lot of details.

The Nike Lunar Speed 3 shoes, belonging to the Lunarlon technology, are based on the same philosophy as the dress – lightweight design providing ease of movement.

  1. Pretty, pretty! 😀 I always loved the most how Nike dresses Maria for RG, it’s so glamorous with a little thouch of good-old-fashioned-Paris. 😀 My top favourite is the one she wore at RG back in 2007.

  2. Beautifull dress… Indeed the shape of the skirt and the details reminded me of something, but I would have never come to think of the Eiffel Tower 😛 …I think my top three is:

    -2008 Roland Garros
    -2007 Us Open
    -2006 US Open
