Top seed Caroline Wozniacki made her home fans happy by winning the inaugural Danish Open which official name is e-Boks Sony Ericsson Open 2010.
The world No.3 Wozniacki had a straight set victory in the final against Czech world No.51 Klara Zakopalova, after being pushed to three sets in her three previous matches (against Anna Chakvetadze in the semifinals, Julia Goerges in the quarterfinals, and Iveta Benesova in the second round).
Wozniacki easily won the first set of the final against seventh-seeded Zakopalova, breaking the Czech twice, while in the second set the Dane fought back from a break down to win in a tiebreak. Final score: 6-2 7-6(5).
It is eighth WTA title for Wozniacki, while Zakopalova remains at two WTA titles, both of which came in 2005. By winning the e-Boks Sony Ericsson Open 2010 Wozniacki earned $37,000 and Zakopalova earned $19,000 as a runner-up.

I’m surprised that she’s won so many titles, well done to her. It probably means a lot to her, winning in Denmark.

I like trophies to look like trophies, like the French Open one for example. I don’t like any plates, dishes, and the worst ones are those that are supposed to be works of art that usually look odd ugly. I can imagine what it feels like to win something great and that you get an ugly prize. 😛 Or maybe at that moment you don’t even think about it? I’m wondering…
