Win three free DVDs to improve your tennis game with yoga

Anastasia's Yoga for Tennis DVDs

Dear readers,

It’s been awhile since our last competition on Women’s Tennis Blog, and I’m glad to announce that the time has come for you to have a chance to win a nice prize again. This time yoga-for-tennis expert Anastasia provided us with two packages of three DVDs with her showing yoga exercises intended to improve your tennis game and your overall health. These exercises were featured in TENNIS Magazine and on Tennis Channel.

Two readers will be awarded with a set of three DVDs: 60-minute long Yoga for Great Tennis, 45-minute long Yoga for Tennis Elbow and 45-minute long Easy Power and Flexibility for Tennis.

While most yoga poses can be used as an aid for a tennis game enhancement, some poses are still better than others, as they target tennis-specific injuries and problem areas. Yoga poses are also good for balancing out the two sides of the body, since tennis players tend to be imbalanced on their less dominant side. Yoga can make your tennis game steadier, through improving your strokes and helping your injuries. Most importantly, yoga can steady your mind, so you are able to get “into the zone” necessary for winning.

This one is simple. Just answer the following question in the comments section below: “Which tennis player’s practice regime interests you the most, i.e. which player’s video with instructional exercises would you like to see?”

The contest is open as of this moment, and will last for three days, until Friday, June 11, 6 p.m. CET. Two winners will be selected randomly, then announced on this blog on Saturday and will be contacted via the email address they provide when leaving the comment.

Good luck!

  1. Wow–these DVDs look really awesome!
I would be interested in Roger Federer’s practice regime, as it seems that he’s never injured. He must have some secret to that!

  2. I’ve been very excited for the next competition and it is finally here!
I would most like to see Maria Sharapova’s training because like her, I predicate my game on power (even if I may not have much) and aggression and she is just a phenomenal player and a real fighter.
Thank you for this opportunity Ms. Marija!

  3. Dear Marija,

You made my day with this post! 🙂

Even though she’s not playing well, or at all, I’d like to see Ana Ivanovic!

    You reader,

    ciao ciao

  4. Thanks for the opportunity Ms. Marija!

I would like to see Jelena Jankovic’s training. She is so agile and fit most of the time, and very fast.

  5. It would have to be Venus. She has an incredible body, players 10 years her junior would give anything for her physique.
I’d also like to see how she hits that massive serve.

  6. I would love to see Caroline Wozniacki, she is so charismatic and just watching her you see she really loves tennis. Saddly she’s dealing with an injury right now and I would like to see how she deals with it through exercises.

    Thanks Marija.

  7. practice regimen?

id like to see how justine henin practices on court and off court… it’ll be interesting how she build on power and accuracy from such small build… and id also like to see how she prepares before a match, because every time she steps into match she’s very prepared

    instructional video?

id like to see venus williams do instructional exercises, because she’s my favorite player… and i dont mind seeing justine in any instructional videos too

thanks for this post marija… 🙂

  8. I would like to see Jelena Jankovic, she’s great athlete and best body of tour. I’m interested in her fitness a lot 🙂

  9. I would like to see how Aravan Rezai has managet to improve herself in this year. So I hope someday She will be nr one.

  10. Hi Marija, thank you, it’s a very great opportunity, i’m very interested in yoga and specially if it’s for tennis 🙂 i’m Italian and in my country (except in the last days) nobody often speaks about my favourite sport, so if you are looking for informations or suggestions you must use web… So if it’s possible i’d like to know how is Francesca Schiavone’s practice, at thirty she’s in perfect form and she gave us a great satisfaction!!

  11. jacob it s obvious, every boy would, but personally, I woudlnt want to be that athletic cos it s hard to wear feminine stuff then.
I am interested to see MaSha´s practice , it would be awesome I think. When I watched NIKE commercial I was so excited 🙂

  12. I’d like to see Dinara’s because she works so hard, also she has a strict diet, what does she eat?

  13. I would like to see Stefan Edbergs routine. I’m older . He’s been retired a while so he’s older too yet he plays fluid tennis on the seniors tour and his match with Rafter st the senior’s year end tournament at the Royal Albert Hsll was amazing

  14. Roger Federer’s practice regime would probably interest me the most. He is so light on his feet and his movement is so elegant, that it would be fascinating to see how he maintains and improves no only this area of his game, but every other aspect aswell.

    Thanks for this Marija!

  15. Men: I would really, really love to see Roger Federer’s practice routine and hopefully learn something from the greatest ever! It is amazing that he has barely been injured in all these years and I’m sure his training has a lot to do with this.

Women: I caught the other day a few seconds of Justine Henin training in a gym and I thought it would be great to see more! You can tell she taker her training so seriously and we can see the results every time she plays.

Thanks so much for this opportunity, Marija!
