Second seed Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark defeated Canada’s Aleksandra Wozniak 6-1 6-2 to win The MPS Group Championships and her fourth Sony Ericsson WTA Tour career title, but the first one on clay.

Wozniacki and Wozniak both had difficult way to the final. Wozniak, the fifth seed, saved a match point in the quarterfinals against Tamira Paszek, while Wozniacki survived an even bigger scare, saving four match points against Elena Vesnina in the semifinals.

Despite losing, Wozniak had a fantastic week, reaching her third Tour final and beating the world No.10 and top seed Nadia Petrova in the semis.

Wozniacki took home $37,000 of the tournament’s $220,000 purse.
