Jamie Murray’s mixed doubles success, at least with Jelena Jankovic, won’t carry over to the year’s final Slam at the US Open as Jankovic says she took a pass on Murray’s advances to concentrate on her singles at Flushing Meadows.

Jankovic has made the right decision, but the world will miss all the fun and laughter that the Serbian-British pair brings.

Jamie is certainly very disappointed. The doubles specialist was hoping that Jelena would accept his invitation, but still, he can understand her:

“He loves to play with me, and I would love to play with him, too. We had so much fun in Wimbledon and we did so great playing for the first time. I wanted to play here as well. But it’s going to be too much for me. He understands because obviously singles is my priority. Mixed doubles is not so important for me. But in the future, I would love to play. I couldn’t ask for a better partner than him.” (via Tennis X)
