Jelena Dokic, darling of the 2009 Australian Open, is forced to skip the 2013 Australian season due to the recovery process from the wrist surgery she has undergone. The date of her return is not known yet. The queen of Australian Open wildcards (that's how one Tennis Forum member called her ), has not played since retiring with a right wrist injury against Galina Voskoboeva in the first round of Charleston in April. In the beginning of the 2012 season our contributor John Bolan wrote an article predicting how the year-end WTA rankings would look like and we asked you to join him, promising the reader whose predictions turn out the most accurate one Top 10 WTA autograph. You know that Women's Tennis Blog always keeps promises and now the time has come to announce the well-deserved winner.

About 30 of you participated with Top 10 season-ending ranking predictions and the best predictor was James of Moo's Tennis Blog! Congratulations, James! Both John and me picked James (without knowing each other's winners). It was not an easy decision between James and Justin, though, since they both got eight of the 2012 year-end Top 10 members right and both placed one player at the exact same ranking position at which the player ended the year.

So far in this year's fashion retrospections we've covered Nike with Maria Sharapova, Fila with Kim Clijsters and Stella McCartney by Caroline Wozniacki, and now we're proceeding with Venus Williams and her own clothing line EleVen.

Due to her autoimmune disease, Venus started the season late, in March, at the Sony Ericsson Open in Miami, when she relaunched EleVen and introduced us to her Spring 2012 collection with words "strong, simple and iconic" in mind, leaving the outrageous clothes behind her:

In the past, my designs were an experiment – a study. I wanted to have fun and go crazy. It was an extension of what I was wearing on the court. The Spring 2012 collection for EleVen, on the other hand, is more classic and more wearable for a greater number of people. I want people to feel they can express themselves with EleVen, no matter what their body shape is.

At her first four tournaments of 2012, i.e. until the French Open, the American wore her recognizable geometric print, shown in the first photo. She alternated the print on Geo Star tanks and shorts combined with solid black or white garments. This month we got a nice addition to our WTA Players and their Boyfriends/Husbands series when South African Chanelle Scheepers married her long-time friend and former coach Roger Anderson on November 10th, 2012 in their home country. The wedding ceremony took place at Lythwood Lodge in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands, as the couple wanted to gather family and friends, who all live in South Africa. The South African No.1 and world No.60 wore a Justin Alexander wedding dress adorned with Swarovski crystals.

After three weeks spent in South Africa, the newlyweds flew to the United Stated for a honeymoon in Napa. Following the vacation, the 28-year-old Scheepers will start preparations for the 2013 season, which she opens with the Hopman Cup in Australia. (source: WTA Tour)
