It will feature all of the news of their English language website as well as a variety of original content.

Chinese tennis players have been prominently successful in the last few years, and it seems they have just begun their rise. In addition, the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour recently opened its Asia-Pacific Headquarters in Beijing and from 2009 on, the Tour will have major presence and expansion into China market. The new website is just a justification of the increasing presence of tennis in China.

Sony Ericsson WTA Tour to launch special website for live streaming

sewta_logo_square_sm.jpgThe Sony Ericsson WTA Tour has announced the creation of a special website where tennis fans will be able to watch tournaments live in 2009.

As for women’s tennis events, 21 will be broadcast on the subscription-based site that will offer both live streaming and match highlights. Match highlights will be available for free. Regional restrictions will apply on all content.

"The vast majority of tennis fans enjoy Tennis with a capital "T", and today’s announcement represents an important step forward in presenting our sport to fans in a simple, compelling and unified manner," said Stacey Allaster, President of the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour.
