Win free passes for watching Wimbledon 2010 live online

Wimbledon Live Online

Dear readers,

Just days after announcing two winners of Yoga for Tennis DVDs I'm giving you another opportunity to get something for free. As I have a nice cooperation with TennisTV.com, I was able to obtain TWO FREE PASSES for watching Wimbledon 2010 live online. Of course, I will give the passes to the two of you who will be lucky enough to be randomly chosen.

All you should do to enter the competition is to answer correctly the following question in the comments section below: On which date will Queen Elizabeth II visit Wimbledon 2010?

The answer shouldn't be difficult, as I wrote about this last month. So if you happen to not know the answer, just search a bit through the archives of Women's Tennis Blog.

The competition is open as of this moment, and will close on Monday, June 21st, 3 pm CET. I will announce the winners shortly after. Make sure you leave your right email address when leaving the comment, as I will contact you via that email.

Once again, thank you Wimbledon Live for giving me the passes.

Readers, I'm wishing you the best of luck!

Marija

WTA players at pre-Wimbledon 2010 party

Group shot pre-Wimbledon party
Wimbledon is just days away and the annual party celebrating the tournament was held at the Roof Gardens in West London's Kensington last night. As usual, the WTA players gave their best to look good and glamorous, and oh well, as usual, their success was sporadic.

Let's start with the bright examples. Venus Williams and Maria Sharapova were spot on. Their dresses are perfect fits and just right for the occasion.

Serena Williams at pre-Wimbledon partyDinara Safina at pre-Wimbledon party

Defending champion Serena Williams looked like a pop star and I'm sure this profile picture will stay remembered for a while. Dinara Safina was having one of her better appearances, although I'm convinced this is not the best she can offer. Read more »

Nike designs for Wimbledon 2010: Maria Sharapova, Serena Williams, Li Na

Nike is one of the best producers of tennis apparel and here’s a special about the outfits their top players will wear at Wimbledon 2010.

Maria Sharapova’s dress I’ve already talked about, and now I’ll just say that its official name is apparently the Lawn Rose Dress and its inspired by English rose petals.

Defending champion Serena Williams will wear the Control Lawn Dress, inspired by the Wimbledon tradition of strawberries and cream. The dress features piping in Voltage Cherry against the traditional white palette.

Li Na will wear a top and a skirt, in colors similar to Serena’s dress.

Elena Dementieva could skip Wimbledon 2010

Elena Dementieva

The word is out that Elena Dementieva could skip Wimbledon due to the leg injury – a torn calf muscle – troubling her since Roland Garros, more precisely since the second round against Anabel Medina Garrigues. Dementieva was playing the Grand Slam with the injury and reached the semifinal during which she had to withdraw after losing the first set 7-6(3) to eventual champion Francesca Schiavone.

The Russian is not playing the AEGON International this week because of the injury and is still uncertain about her participation at Wimbledon. World No.5 Dementieva has played 46 straight Grand Slams, so in case she really misses Wimbledon we will have every right to get really concerned. (source: Forty Deuce, photo: sr_cranks)

Wimbledon: Rezai still shocks with style, Henin keeps it simple, Ivanovic introduces leggings

Aravane Rezai Wimbledon outfit

You may think it’s difficult to create something different when all you can do is make a white tennis outfit, but Aravane Rezai has succeeded and followed up her gold and black dress with an equally memorable and eye-catching white outfit for Wimbledon 2010. We will get the full impression when Aravane takes off that embellished jacket, but from what we can see of the skirt, it follows the same style as her last outfit, which is pretty much a bad thing, although it can be argued that it matches Aravane’s personality, which is always a good thing.

If Aravane’s outfit with lots of strange details imposed some stress on you, here’s a perfect relaxation – Justine Henin and adidas. There’s nothing disturbing about Justine’s Wimbledon outfit, although, you may get frustrated with the fact that Justine’s always wearing the same type of clothes. Still, some of her outfits are better than the others, and I see this Wimbledon piece has a touch of elegant on top of being simple and sporty.

Ana Ivanovic will wear adidas’ Women's adilibria Dress, as you already know, but now we get to see an addition – leggings for cold days. Wonder if Justine will also wear them. I think better not. (sources: Down the Line, WTA Women Tennis)
