Second seed Caroline Wozniacki and Elena Vesnina won their semifinal matches at the Pilot Pen Tennis presented by Schick, which were moved indoors due to pouring rain in New Haven.

The world No.9 Wozniacki beat third seed Flavia Pennetta by winning eighth of the nine games after being tied at 4-4 in the first set. The world No.32 Vesnina upset eighth seed Amelie Mauresmo in the semifinals, recovering from a tight first set loss to win 5-7 6-1 6-2. Flavia Pennetta, Caroline Wozniacki play "Football Tennis"

Flavia Pennetta, Caroline Wozniacki play

Flavia Pennetta and Caroline Wozniacki, who seems to be the most popular player for the Sony Ericsson stunts, kick started the Pilot Pen Tennis tournament by playing tennis on a historic American football stadium.

The largest tennis court in the world was laid out inside the Yale Bowl and Wozniacki and Pennetta ran tennis balls down the football field.

"If only all tennis courts were as large as the one at Yale Bowl today, then all of our balls will be sure to go in," said the world No.9 Wozniacki after the extraordinary match.

This is the third stunt created by Sony Ericsson this summer. Last week Ana Ivanovic and Caroline Wozniacki stopped traffic to play in one Toronto street, while Kim Clijsters and Elena Dementieva played in the middle of a fountain. (source: Sony Ericsson WTA Tour)
