Are Redfoo and Azarenka officially dating?

Rumors about the relationship between Victoria Azarenka and Redfoo have been out there for a while, especially after her recent breakup with Sergei Bubka. In a telephone interview for ESPN, with Vika by his side, Redfoo talked his love of tennis and music and in the end the interviewer was direct about whether he and Vika were officially a couple, and here's what Redfoo answered:

Yeah, I think so. It’s pretty out there. I hope so! We don’t talk about it that much, but if I saw her with another dude, I wouldn’t be happy about it. We just try to do our thing and have fun and laugh.

Azarenka retains Australian Open crown against Li

In a dramatic and scrappy final that had it all – twisted ankles, bumps on the head, preceding controversy, a crowd favorite player and interrupting fireworksVictoria Azarenka prevailed 4-6 6-4 6-3 against Li Na on Rod Laver Arena and won her second Grand Slam title, extending her streak in January matches to 21-0.

Li opened the meeting with a double fault and allowed to be broken right away, but Azarenka soon found herself 5-2 down and even though she approached her opponent to be just one game down, 5-4, and saved three set points, the first section of the match ended just as it began, with a double fault, this time by the top-seeded Azarenka.

The second set started with Azarenka's 3-0 momentum and just as Li got a break back she went over on her left ankle and started hopping, clearly hardly putting weight on her foot. There was a medical timeout to tape the ankle up and as the match resumed Li hung in there and leveled to 4-4, before losing the set 6-4. Read more »

The WTA fashion side of Australian Open 2013

It's time for our traditional Grand Slam fashion overview! Unlike in previous years, we will start by looking at the less known brands that made an impact at the 2013 Australian Open and we'll leave the giants such as Nike and Adidas for the end of the article.

German Mona Barthel followed her Hobart run to the finals with a first-round 7-5 2-6 6-4 defeat to Ksenia Pervak at the Australian Open, but she left in style, wearing a gracious dress from Denise Cronwall's 2013 collection. Cronwall's designs are always feminine and romantic and even though this dress doesn't have the designer's signature lace and flower patterns, the wavy seam brings about the recognizable elegant feel.

Another young star Camila Giorgi also had a brief appearance at Melbourne Park, but as always she engraved her fashion mark with a colorful and cheerful outfit that perfectly complements her age and beauty.

Venus Williams is slowly spreading her line and is not the only one wearing her clothes on the tennis courts any more. World No.166, former No.25, Jarmila Gajdosova switched from Lacoste to EleVen and proudly sported the peach and white Oh&Oh tank and a matching skirt. Venus herself is working a dress with watercolor print and thin black contrast binding at the bust, waistline, and shoulders.

Two more fashion switches at this Australian Open are Julia Goerges, who came to Fila from Nike, and Svetlana Kuznetsova, who replaced Fila with Qiaodan. Goerges' Fila debut is all blue: the German was wearing separates from spring 2013 Center Court Collection. Notice that her manicure is perfectly blending with the outfit. Kuznetsova was also all blue, but a different shade of blue, wearing the dress of the Chinese manufacturer. Read more »

Serena Williams through to round four, continues dominance with intimidating serves

Unlike her sister Venus, who was crushed by in-form Maria Sharapova in the third round, for the second straight match Serena Williams hit a near-record serve and cruised to the fourth round of the Australian Open with a 6-1 6-3 victory over Ayumi Morita. Serena sealed her second-round match with a 207 kmh ace and in her latest encounter she repeated such a fast serve. Converted into miles per hour, that's 128.6, and the record, currently held by Venus Williams, is 129 mph.

Top seed Victoria Azarenka was greatly tested in her third round against Jamie Hampton, who may have pulled off an upset had she not sustained a lower back injury. Playing at that stage of a Grand Slam for the first time, Hampton drew the crowd to her side with her undying determination and powerful groundstrokes. She forced the third set and even went up a break in it, but the defending champion prevailed 6-4 4-6 6-2, despite trailing Hampton 17 to 41 in the winners department.

The fourth round is now all set up. Let's see who's facing whom: Read more »

Azarenka and Williams lose a total of three games in the second round of the Australian Open

Top seed Victoria Azarenka and third seed Serena Williams won their second-round matches at the Australian Open with decisive scorelines, 6-1 6-0 and 6-2 6-0 respectively.

The 23-year-old defending champion Azarenka confidently defeated Eleni Daniilidou, who had won their only previous meeting five years ago, and in the third round she will face Jamie Hampton, the only player who held a set point, in Auckland semifinals, against the most successful player of 2013, Agnieszka Radwanska, who is 22-0 in sets won this season.

Not troubled by the ankle she twisted in the previous round, Williams progressed past Garbine Muguruza, but only after accidentally smashing herself in the face with her racquet, again while hitting a forehand.

I think it happens to everyone, but I have never busted it wide open like that. So, yeah, I was like, Oh, no. I can’t have a tooth fall out. That would be horrible. I don’t know why my racket was even in my face. I mean, it’s like I have been playing tennis far too long to hit myself.

Despite the mishaps, the powerful Serena sealed the match with a 207km/h (128mp/h) ace! The American next plays Ayumi Morita as she continues her bid for a 16th Grand Slam title and sixth in Australia. (via Beyond the Baseline, photo: © Neal Trousdale)
