Venus and Serena Williams win Australian Open doubles title
Venus and Serena Williams won their eighth Grand Slam doubles title with victory at the 2009 Australian Open.
The sisters claimed their third doubles trophy in Melbourne, by defeating Daniela Hantuchova of Slovakia and Japan's Ai Sugiyama 6-3 6-3.
Venus and Serena breezed through the first set. In the second set there was more fight as the pairs exchanged breaks six times in nine games before the Americans came through.
"I'd like to thank Serena for being the best partner," said Venus. "I wouldn't want to play with anyone else. She's amazing."

One of the favorites for the title, sixth seed Venus Williams, lost as early as in the second round of the Australian Open, being beaten by world No.46 Carla Suarez Navarro.
Second seed Serena Williams was extremely close to losing the second set, but the three-time Australian Open champion eventually defeated Argentine Gisela Dulko in straight sets 6-3 7-5.
Sixth seed Venus Williams joined her
Venus Williams hasn’t lost one singles match at the JB Group Classic in Hong Kong, and her last victim was Russian world number seven Vera Zvonareva.
Hard-hitting Venus Williams defeated Anna Chakvetadze 7-6(1) 6-3 at the JB Group Classic in Hong Kong, while Vera Zvonareva came from behind to beat Gisela Dulko 6-4 0-6 6-3 which means that Team Americas and Team Russia are tied at 1-1 in the JB Gold Group.

Venus Williams was too strong for world No.1 Jelena Jankovic at the JB Group Classic in Hong Kong, defeating the Serb 6-2 6-2.
Seven-time Grand Slam champion Venus Williams still feels like she has a lot of things to achieve in tennis and doesn’t see herself retiring, despite watching many of her competitors hang up their rackets in recent years.
