After storming past Elina Svitolina in her opener, Caroline Wozniacki was picture perfect in her second Red Group round-robin match, beating world number one Simona Halep 6-0 6-2 in 63 minutes at the 2017 BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore presented by SC Global. Wozniacki won 17 consecutive games in her first two matches in Singapore, finishing her encounter with Svitolina with 10 won games in a row and winning the first seven games against frustrated Halep.

The sixth-seeded Wozniacki served at 94% in the first set and, helped by Halep’s overthinking and nervousness, the Dane had absolutely no trouble baking a bagel for her opponent in just 24 minutes. Games in the second set were much more competitive, but still it was Wozniacki who dictated the match, racing to a 4-1 lead and winning the match without ever looking back.

The Dane has now definitely booked her spot in the semifinals, as Caroline Garcia defeated Elina Svitolina in three sets in the subsequent Red Group match.
