Bad weather continued to plague the 2016 Aegon International Eastbourne on Thursday. Following a partly rained-out Wednesday that saw two third-round matches pushed to the quarterfinal day, continuing rain prevented three Thursday’s matches from completing according to the schedule as well.

While the two leftover matches from Wednesday finished with Karolina Pliskova and Elena Vesnina emerging victorious, only one of the planned quarterfinals completed. Monica Puig is the sole confirmed semifinalist so far, beating France’s Kristina Mladenovic in a thrilling three-set encounter.

The following match between Agnieszka Radwanska and Dominika Cibulkova was interrupted by rain twice. The players returned to the courts after the first delay, as Radwanska took the first set, a second rain shower finally meant the match needed to be pushed to Friday, alongside two other quarterfinals.
