Loosening up at Charleston players’ party

WTA players’ parties sometimes look like formal gatherings, but the Family Circle Cup made sure to organize a real party, providing a bunch of props for players to get creative and even a photo booth to have it all documented. As you can see, the party produced plenty of shared moments to remember.

Andrea Petkovic and Jelena Jankovic - Charleston players party

The one and only Jelena Jankovic was all over the place, hanging out with defending champion Andrea Petkovic, Alla Kudryavtseva, and many others, in a variety of roles.

The 2007 Charleston champion also enjoyed some solo time as a Batman 🙂 Donna Vekic was a Batman with lollipop.

What is a surefire way to bring WTA players together? Just set up a photo booth!

Ajla Tomljanovic, Madison Keys, Lisa Raymond, Heather Watson, Sloane Stephens - Charleston

Ajla Tomljanovic, Madison Keys, Lisa Raymond and Heather Watson exploited the photo booth to the max, just as Sloane Stephens.

Angelique Kerber and Anna-Lena Grönefeld got the best of it as well.

Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova - Charleston players party

The candy corner was just as popular as the photo booth. Above you can see Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova enjoying the sweet rush, while below are Belinda Bencic and Jana Cepelova getting some colorful confections.

Many other players were also at the party, including the 2010 Charleston champion Sam Stosur, Eugenie Bouchard, Caroline Garcia, and Bethanie Mattek Sands. For more photos, check out the WTA’s Charleston gallery. Highlight: Alexandra Dulgheru channeling her inner Michael Jackson. 🙂 (photos via players’ social media profiles)

Doesn’t really have to do with the players party, but I read on the WTA website that Sania MIrza if she wins the doubles title this week with Hingis becomes world Number 1 in doubles. That will be a huge milestone for Sania as well as India.
