JJ & Petko bring hilariousness to Charleston

JJ and Petko

Jelena Jankovic and Andrea Petkovic are among the most entertaining WTA players. Why? Because they first and foremost love to entertain themselves! The crowd at the Family Circle Cup knew that the wildcard doubles pair can bring nothing but ultimate amusement and left no empty seats when the fun-loving duo took the court against Liezel Huber and Lisa Raymond.

Prior to the tournament, Petko tweeted:

Doubles with JJ. Trouble guaranteed.

Of course, it wasn't hard for them to live up to the expectations. At a press conference JJ even said that playing the doubles match with Petko was the most fun she had ever had on a tennis court in her life! Then you can imagine how entertaining it was!

Thanks to Women Who Serve, I read that JJ entered her press conference with a blanket on her shoulders and since it resembled a cape, she immediately declared herself a superhero. Plus, she said: "I want to look like a beast", when going into a lengthy and funny speech about how she stopped wearing makeup on court.

Here's quote of JJ, who said that she still uses lip gloss because her lips are cracked from talking too much:

I just want to look as scary as possible. I don't want to look pretty and all nice and dolled up. For what? I'm going to get dirty and sweaty. The only thing, my hair has to be slick.

To make things even better, Jankovic and Petkovic won their first-round doubles match against the Huber/Raymond pair 7-5 2-6 10-7 and both their second-round singles matches – Jankovic beat Lauren Davis 6-0 6-3, while Petkovic needed just 49 minutes to double bagel Lourdes Dominguez Lino.
