Sharapova cruises past Hantuchova in Paris

Maria Sharapova playing Paris

The Open GDF SUEZ headliner Maria Sharapova eased into the quarterfinals, after her first-round bye, with a 6-0 6-1 victory over Daniela Hantuchova. A nice start, given the Russian's hip injury troubles at the Australian Open. Sharapova is now 9-1 against the world No.31 Hantuchova.

Sugarpova

Sharapova is the top seed at the event, but she didn't travel to Paris just to play tennis, she also came to spread her sweet empire in the French capital and like all the good marketers she made sure to offer free Sugarpova during the post-match press conference. Women's Tennis Blog's photographer Jimmie48 was right there, getting his sugar fix. I strongly recommend you to follow him on Twitter for live photo coverage from the Open GDF SUEZ!

Fashion info: Sharapova is wearing her Australian Open outfit – the Nike Premier Maria Tunic Dress.

haha I say the tournament is FIX!
Sugarpova is sponsor course Maria Sharapova would win today! j/k lol
Maria play like her normal self but Daniela Hantuchova play very poorly and only won one game in the second set. I felt bad for her cause during her coaching timeout she sound very negative about herself.

Dxana, who wouldn't be negative with such a weak win-loss record against the player on the other side of the net.

@Marija but you got have little bit faith in you and Maria can double fault and her unforced errors can be high but you got stay positive all the time and not try recall bad memories.

Dxana, that's true, but Hantuchova's character is not that kind. You simply are something or you aren't.
