Love woes turn into professional success for Caroline Wozniacki

Caroline WozniackiBreak-ups do wonders for motivation. This week may have been tearful for Caroline Wozniacki when it comes to love, but professionally she's made her biggest success of the season, claiming her first title in 2013 and 21st in her career by beating Annika Beck in the final of the BGL BNP Paribas Luxembourg Open.

Despite not saving any of the three break points against her, the top-seeded Wozniacki used 7 of her 9 opportunities to take her opponent's serve and cruised to a 6-2 6-2 victory over the first-time WTA finalist Beck.

After defeating home star Mandy Minella in the first round, the top-seeded Wozniacki eliminated last year's finalist Monica Niculescu in the second round, eighth seed Bojana Jovanovski in the quarterfinals, third seed Sabine Lisicki in the semifinals and in the end Beck, to pocket 32,258 EUR in prize money. (photo: JJ Tennis)

Caro, you are the one!!! Where did I put my fan club card? Damn, I throw it away after the f#!&%)! US open loss.

Anyway, can anyone explain to me how Caro has more points than Angelie at ranking as of October 20 and she doesn't have spot #8 in Istambul? I know that race point is different but it's an awkward situation.

I think that Caro shares the same feeling: “I do not understand that (the WTA) can suddenly change the draw and allocation of wildcards that way. There are many things that have been done in an unsportsmanlike and unethical manner. And you can hear from other players. They think it’s so ridiculous.”

Go Caro!!! You are the one for your true fans! Well those who haven't torn down their fan club card :-)

I like Angelie too. Can't we just get rid of the "vamos" girl, a total absurdity in Istambul? At least, Sara escaped drawing Serena's pot for a certain double bagel. I don't think that I will be welcome in Italy any time soon.

Wrong thread. I want to write about Vika and I keep coming back to Caro. That's definitely a sign!!!
