Break-ups do wonders for motivation. This week may have been tearful for Caroline Wozniacki when it comes to love, but professionally she's made her biggest success of the season, claiming her first title in 2013 and 21st in her career by beating Annika Beck in the final of the BGL BNP Paribas Luxembourg Open.
Despite not saving any of the three break points against her, the top-seeded Wozniacki used 7 of her 9 opportunities to take her opponent's serve and cruised to a 6-2 6-2 victory over the first-time WTA finalist Beck.
After defeating home star Mandy Minella in the first round, the top-seeded Wozniacki eliminated last year's finalist Monica Niculescu in the second round, eighth seed Bojana Jovanovski in the quarterfinals, third seed Sabine Lisicki in the semifinals and in the end Beck, to pocket 32,258 EUR in prize money.
