Top seed Bojana Jovanovski won her second career title by rallying for win against Olga Govortsova in the Tashkent Open final.

The Serb, who was the only seeded player to reach the semis of the event, overcame the loss of the first set and battled to victory in the third-set tiebreak, 4-6 7-5 7-6(3). Jovanovski had 19 break opportunities in the long match, but converted just five, while her opponent converted five of nine.

En route to the International-level title and $40,000 in prize money, Jovanovski defeated Kurumi Nara in the first round, then Misai Doi, then seventh seed Galina Voskoboeva in the quarterfinals, Maria-Teresa Torro-Flor in the semis, and finally the unseeded Govortsova.

The world No.113 Govotsova was playing her fourth WTA final and is still waiting for her maiden title, while the 58th-ranked Jovanovski won the 2012 Baku Cup. (photo: Ralf Reinecke)
