Starting the match by winning the first ten points and finishing it with 59 points to her opponent’s 29, Maria Sharapova stormed past unlikely former world No.1 semifinalist Jelena Jankovic 6-2 6-1 to reach her fifth Miami final, hoping to finally win the title in the city where she first landed when she moved to the United States as a child.

Sharapova has now won 11 straight matches, 22 straight sets, 45 straight matches against players outside the Top 20 and four against the Serb. Now her task is to improve her 0-4 record in Miami finals when she faces the winner of the Serena Williams vs. Agnieszka Radwanska semifinal. 1. Yeah, I’ve seen a part of this match in tv, i think the second set. Maria did perform good, although Jelena could do better which may have caused some problems do the Russian. Well, good match it was, let’s see how Maria does in the final against Serena 😉

  2. Is it just me or has JJ regained some sort of consistent form. I shall keep on eye on her for the next 6 weeks and see how she does in Rolland Garros.
