Jurgen Melzer has never been a stranger to dating fellow tennis players, most notably Dominika Cibulkova, but the girl that he tied the knot with is Iveta Benesova.
The wedding picture was shared by Michaella Krajicek on Twitter, and according to her hashtag "Laxenburg", we can conclude that the wedding took place in Laxenburg, Austria. It is near Vienna, Melzer's birthplace.
Melzer and Benesova started dating probably somewhere after their mixed doubles run to the Wimbledon 2011 title, while the information became official somewhere in November 2011. Actually, at the time the Austrian-Czech mixed doubles team enjoyed the exhilarating moments of lifting the Wimbledon trophy, Melzer was officially still in a relationship with Austrian swimmer Mirna Jukic, who won a bronze medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Melzer and the 29-year-old Benesova are both on Twitter and sometimes they like to share their affection on the social networking site. Four months ago Melzer thanked his girlfriend for the 31st birthday breakfast she made him. Above is the screenshot of his tweet and the photo of the breakfast.
Congratulations to the newlyweds! And thank you, Frank Lambert, for telling me about the wedding! This is a nice addition to our series "WTA Players and their Boyfriends/Husbands". (photos via Jurgen Melzer's Twitter)
