New York fashion – women's tennis US Open edition

New York and fashion go hand in hand, and tennis outfits are no exception, especially when we have a high-profile event such as the US Open. So let's see what the manufacturers of tennis clothes prepared for our WTA stars and there is no better way to start than with American Bethanie Mattek Sands who integrated patriotism in her attire.

Don't you love the American-flag tube socks and the accompanying red shoes? Bethanie looks awesome in her Under Armour outfit with accessories that perfectly match the US Open occasion.

Bethanie is known for her experiments with fashion and her most recent took place before and during Wimbledon, when she incorporated tennis balls in her player party and on-court outfits.

Venus Williams shocked with her EleVen US Open dress as much as she did with her subsequent abrupt withdrawal due to a long-undiagnosed syndrome.

Top seed Caroline Wozniacki and Stella McCartney absolutely failed to inspire with a white dress much more suitable for Wimbledon. Why not use colors for the US Open when you can?

Regular Adidas prepared a lovely collection for the US Open, with dominant colors being pink, blue and white, and all the players wearing it look perfect. Above you can see Simona Halep, Andrea Petkovic and Maria Kirilenko in Adidas Fall Barricade clothes, while Ana Ivanovic and Sorana Cirstea are cled in Adidas Fall Adizero Feather collection.

Ellesse luckily has Galina Voskoboeva stealing the spotlight from Nadia Petrova. While Petrova's print makes your eyesight blurry, Voskoboeva is attracting all the right attention with the fluffy dress that suits her perfectly.

We have already talked a lot about Nike and you know everything about their US Open apparel (Maria Sharapova's and Serena Williams' dresses, Sharapova's jacket, Li Na's and Victoria Azarenka's outfits), so here's just a collage of photos which is also featuring Sabine Lisicki, a new representative of Nike.

Besides Vera Zvonareva, K-Swiss had Alona Bondarenko and Alexandra Dulgheru representing it. Dulgheru will remember this US Open for her stunning first round victory over reigning Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova.

Jelena Jankovic was working a yellow Anta dress, while Dominika Cibulkova sported a white, black and purple Lacoste dress (Samantha Stosur is wearing a similar dress, just that colors are distributed differently).

Svetlana Kuznetsova is a perfect match with Fila sportswear brand. It's a pity that Fila's Kim Clijsters, twice defending champion at the US Open, had to miss the tournament.

My favorites this US Open are Maria Sharapova's night dress, Adidas Adizero tank and skort on Sorana Cirstea, Galina Voskoboeva looked cute in the white Ellesse dress, and Fila on Svetlana Kuznetsova is a good combination. Also, Bethanie Mattek Sands' outfit has a thumbs up from me. What do you think? Which styles do you prefer?

i love this kind of post! For me the best dress is caroline's one, but i wanted to see it in the yellow version! That outfit need some colour! She's only wearing pink nails, the rest is all white! I also like ana's dress, but i think that the colours are very similar of last year's! And maria's nike dress looks awosome on her! Day one was very very horrible!! I thinkshe loses to flavia because of that uggly dress hahah

oh and i like carolines stella dress, i would LOVE it if it were in a different colour…Over the past 3 years, caroline has wore ONE blue dress, and the rest have been white….thats crazy?!?!?!!? EVERYTHING LOOKS THE SAME!

I am surprised how nice FILA dress is. Caroline's dresses are so monotoneous. At least this one has a nice fit.
I expected a bit more from Ana's dress although it is a good standard.

My favourite are Adidas Adizero and Maria's night dress (and i'm pretty pissed off she wore it just once :( ). I also like Lacoste and Fila very much. Caro's dress is pretty, but white is just boring. I expected more of JJ's dress. Bethanie's look is nothing new from her, really. Venus- just ugly and cheap dress. The others are nice. Oh yeah, somehow i love both Ellesse outfits. :D

the blue and pink combos that adidas put together work beautifully! the blue tope with the pink through the middle is gorgeous, for me adidas owned this tournament with those beautiful colours.

although a LOT of the women wore the same thing, every woman Laura Robson played was wearing the same clothes as her! (adidas pink tops with white through the middle) though they were very nice.

Venus once again wins worst dressed.

Caro looks lovely as ever, i think white is her favourite colour, however her black/yellow combo from previous US Opens is certainly her best, this is a little bland, her Wimbledon dress was more interesting.

Alona picks very nice K-Swiss clothes to wear i have to say. Makes Vera's more athletic choices look quite dull.

Jankovic always looks nice in her dresses but for some reason she ALWAYS puts a very thick matching top under her thin strapped dresses, can't help but think she should try without? Even if she has broad shoulders it would look nice for a change.

Sharapova and Serena obv look good, but for me they don't stand out as much as the adidas girls.

    ADIDAS COLOURS = WIN

I'm always biased towards Serena and Nike, so of course I think that Serena is or was the best dressed of the season. ADIDAS and Lacoste are favorites as well.
