Venus, Maria and Serena in "Strong is Beautiful" campaign
The WTA has added new imagery to their "Strong is Beautiful" campaign, under the title "Active Legends".
Along will players whose faces are not commonly exploited in the WTA marketing, Serena Williams was featured when the campaign launched in May. Venus Williams and Maria Sharapova are now part of the campaign for the first time.
A few days ago the WTA announced the achievements of their social media marketing efforts and one of the successes they mentioned was the "Strong is Beautiful" campaign, which has received close to 1.8 million views on YouTube.
wow those are some very impressing powerful looking women in these shoots.
My guess is that the WTA added Venus and Maria because this campaign hasn't done as well as they had hoped. Their "hotshots" promotion has been much better!
No mention in your article about how gutsy Andrea was to play in the semi's with a torn meniscus. Look at all the players who wimped out of Cincy because they were more worried about playing in the Open.
Should the Open break all precedents and give Serena a top seed? My vote is no way!!

Hmm, I'd give the edge to Serena.
They have to add maria & serena in the campaign. There's no reason,, they are WTA star! Serena is our tennis queen and maria is the most famous woman athlete in this planet and they both are the champion. There's no reason,, wta is not wta without serena & maria
I think more people would know Serena than Maria. She has more exposure in the sport and she's on the Hollywood scene often. Maria may have the sexier endorsements but Serena still rules tennis. I pick her to win the Open.
