Photos from the wedding of Elena Dementieva

Alla Kudryavtseva, who was the first to break the news about Elena Dementieva's wedding, took her reporting job seriously and didn't leave the story half told. Thanks to her we have the opportunity to see many pictures from the Moscow wedding and there is also a video from Russian Life News.

The 29-year-old Dementieva, remembered as one of the nicest WTA stars, looked like a princess in her wedding dress.

Dementieva's husband is a famous Russian ice hockey player, Maxim Afinogenov, and many athletes attended the wedding of this sports couple. As for Elena's colleagues, there were Vera Dushevina, Dinara Safina, Maria Kirilenko, Vera Zvonareva, Svetlana Kuznetsova and Ekaterina Makarova.

The brides bouquet went into the hands of Vera Dushevina.

Caroline Wozniacki and Roger Federer sent video messages to congratulate the couple.

Women's Tennis Blog wishes a harmonious and joyful marriage to Elena and Maxim.

Yetzur Moshe, thank you for referring me to these sources in the Women's Tennis Fans Facebook group.

So funny, on the same day, big news, but different coverage: WTB writes about Dementieva while C Note is writing about Caro

It would be great if someone could translate what is being said in the video. Google translate is no help this time :-)

Brenda, the Tour is not a friendly place in general. Sharapova realized that is gave it up from the start. I see it like that.

Gregoire, today I wrote about Caro as well. ;)

Jelena looks so beautiful. A mess she isn't at the tour anymore.
Just the best for Jelena and her houseband!

Patricia, it's not Jankovic who is getting married but Dementieva ;-)

On the same topic, here is a good joke:

I'm wondering if Caro mentioned this joke on the video at the wedding.

Brenda, Maria is friends with fellow Russian players Kirilenko,Chakvetadze and Vesnina…

You can see she gets along well with her team mates during fed cup sveta, dinara and anastacia

I think its the other way around …deep inside a lot of the Russian players mentioned are jealous of Marias success.

She is the most successful Russian Tennis Player truth be told.

Let's face it – Maria is an American. She speaks American English as her first language, always trained only in America and went to school only in America. Lives in California and Florida. She is the biggest female sports celebrity in America.

All the real Russian players attending went through the Moscow system and have been friends since childhood.

By the way, my friend Alla is not happy that news sources have used her pictures without authorization. It may be the last time we will be able to see her pictures on-line.

Gregoire, yeah, I'm sorry for the mistake. I was a bit busy. Furthermore she is called "Jelena" in the german medias all the time. I don't know why… ;-)

    Gregoire –

The correct spelling in Russian is: Елена Дементьева.

Her given name is pronounced: "Ye-lye-na" and can be rendered in Roman script as "Jelena", "Yelena" or "Elena".

In other words, Patricia is not wrong – you're just being facetious.
