There were many speculations as to who would be Ana Ivanovic’s new coach, and the latest news is that the Serbian world No. 17 is on a trial with Antonio van Grichen, former coach of Victoria Azarenka and briefly Vera Zvonareva.

Portuguese van Grichen is currently training with Ivanovic and they will be working together through the Australian part of the season. Many brands found their place in our yearly retrospections of WTA players' outfits, most of them even a lot of times, but we had never featured K-Swiss. Their representative, Vera Zvonareva, was doing really good this year – the Russian reached her career-high ranking of No.2 and played two Grand Slam finals (US Open and Wimbledon), therefore it's the perfect time to have a closer look at the sportswear brand of K-Swiss.

As you can see, Zvonareva wore several different outfits during the season, but most of them had a few versions: long sleeves, short sleeves, straps, just a different skirt or a different top, and she constantly diversified in that way.

Nike mentions Women's Tennis Blog on Facebook

Nike Tennis shares Women's Tennis Blog on Facebook

It seems that my fashion overviews are hitting the mark. I woke up this morning and saw a message from reader DeShawn Besabella on Twitter that Nike Tennis shared Women's Tennis Blog's review of Serena Williams' 2010 Nike outfits on their Facebook page which has almost 92000 fans.

The overview didn't go unnoticed. As you can see, in ten hours 84 people hit "like" and that's not all. I got an email from another reader, Sam, who told me that he saw how I was advertising Women's Tennis Blog on Nike's Facebook page. Of course, it is not an advertisement, Nike just recognized my overview of their tennis clothes as a good marketing and thought it would be good for their brand that as many people as possible see it.

Kim beats Henin in GDF SUEZ Diamond Games exhibition in Belgium

Kim Clijsters and Justine Henin

In an exhibition match of two Belgian superstars that took place in Antwerp, Kim Clijsters defeated Justine Henin 6-1 3-6 10-5.

Their meeting at the GDF SUEZ Diamond Games exhibition in Belgium was Henin’s first tennis match since the fourth round of Wimbledon in June, when she also played Clijsters and lost. The rest of the season Henin had to miss because of an elbow injury and her appearance in front of 14,000 fans at the Belgian exhibition was a nice test before the start of the 2011 season, which she plans to open with the Brisbane International, but only after playing the mixed doubles event in Perth. Clijsters will also begin her 2011 with an exhibition, but in Thailand, and then she will play the tournament in Sydney.

Another interesting piece of information regarding Clijsters and Henin is circulating the media – they are discussing competing at the 2012 London Olympics together, as a doubles team. Nothing is certain, but it definitely is a possibility. (source: ESPN Star, photo: Twenty90seven)

Serena Williams could stay out until spring, at least her injury got bling bling

Serena Williams with her cast decorated by Swarowski crystals

The word is out that Serena Williams might postpone her comeback until spring 2011 and the tennis star is trying to make the best of a bad situation, personally decorating her cast with Swarowski crystals.

"I hope to be out of the cast and back on the court by spring," Serena said at YSL and Vogue's fashion party in Miami on Saturday night.

Serena hasn't played tennis since Wimbledon 2010 due to a foot injury, and will certainly not going to defend her title at the 2011 Australian Open.

Sam, thanks for pitching me to share this piece of news! ;) (photo via New York Media)

Aravane Rezai's shocking Scheyda style in 2010

Aravane Rezai in black and gold outfit

Aravane Rezai has earned the honor of being featured in our retrospections of WTA players' yearly outfits (thanks you, Marine, for this wonderful suggestion!). The Frenchwoman, even though a Top 20 player, doesn't have a well-known clothing sponsor, and neither is she famous for her great on-court style, but there is one thing that sets her apart – her crazy outfits with outrageous details that she actually wears perfectly! So, let the fun begin!

My research took me to the website which says that French clothing brand Schedya is responsible for Rezai's style. Schedya, owned by Rezai's friend, is "dedicated to cultural diversity". Schedya means "feeling good" in Persian and their logo, which can be read both in English from left to right and in Persian from right to left, is meant to signify the unity of Eastern and Western cultures.
