A large thank you from Marija and Women's Tennis Blog

Marija in Beijing

Dear readers,

I asked you to tell me something about yourselves, in the last days of 2009, while I was in China. I would really like to thank you for actively participating in the comments section and giving me and all the other readers an opportunity to meet you. Also, I would like to thank you for greatly supporting Women's Tennis Blog, and giving it all the praise there is.

We have learned that people from all over the globe visit this website. Practically all age groups are present here, and our readers are both people who play tennis, and those that only enjoy watching it.

As you presented yourselves, I should do so as well. You probably already know something about me, as I have some most important facts revealed at the About page, but I will say a few words here as well. I'm a 25-years-old from Novi Sad, the second biggest city in Serbia. Three years ago I graduated in English Language and Literature and I've been working as a full-time translator for seven months now. It's ironic that I played ballet for nine years, and I have never trained tennis. It was by chance that I started this blog, being a great tennis fan and one day, watching the Sony Ericsson Open final between Serena Williams and Justine Henin, I decided to start writing online on the topic I love (haha here is that first post, I didn't even use photos back then). You can probably tell that I have never imagined my blog would grow into such a well-known source of tennis news.

As for the women's tennis players, of course, I support the Serbian fallen stars, I love Zheng Jie and Li Na (the increasing presence of China in tennis fascinates me), I also love Svetlana Kuznetsova for her attitude, and the Williams sisters for being the always-present force in the tennis world, Dinara Safina I love for her character and all the chances she blew away, and the list goes on.

If you haven't participated in our post where readers presented themselves, why not, you can use this occasion and tell us something about yourself.

Once again, thank you guys for everything!

Marija

Nice photo Marija :) You are making a fantastic job and I really appreciate your work for us ;)
About Dina I agree :) Even though she lost big matches and is nervy on court sometimes, I still like watching her :)

It was nice of you to share something about yourself Marija. Ballet for nine years? Interesting. I did it for three years but ended up giving up. Again, I appreciate all the work you put into this blog as I know it's in your free time and you probably don't always feel like updating it, but you always deliver. Thanks again, and by the way happy Valentine's Day everyone! :)

I love your blog Marija and one of the things I love about it is that you hardly ever censor folks. You let everyone have their say even if they disagree with you and I love that about this blog. I stumbled across it by accident by I have bookmarked it for over a year now and I really do enjoy coming here. I also loved reading about other posters here and it just makes you realise that tennis is really a global sport. Happy Valentines Day everyone.

Thank you for doing such a good job, Marija, I also enjoy this blog. I also did ballet for about 3 years, but that was more of my mum's ambition than mine. I am now seriously thinking about taking up tennis as an amateur and sharing the joy from tennis with you and others is a big part of my motivation. So, good luck and keep it going. Ajde! :-)

I'm very happy to have so supportive readers that love my blog that much. I see a lot of room for improvement in my blog, and I hope that in time I will follow that path and only make it better. Thank you for all the praise you're giving to my blog and me. :) Also, it was my pleasure to reveal more things about me and let you know me better.

Zeksi, nice to hear from you. I have to say that even though I understand Serbian comments in this blog should be in English, because of the other readers. I think I'm covering Ana a lot even now that she's down, actually, a couple of days ago three of five posts on homepage were about her. As for the AO outfits, meh, I forgot to do them this year. I think it's nice to do a review of outfits for each Grand Slam, but it seems I should always put a reminder. :P Remind me some time Roland Garros. :)
