Serena Williams donates prize for Sophie's Voice Foundation

Serena WilliamsSerena Williams is involved in an auction and all proceeds will benefit Sophie's Voice Foundation, which advocates for individuals with spina bifida.

Serena will give a 30-minute tennis lesson in West Palm Beach, Florida, that includes roundtrip coach airfare for two and one night hotel stay, with breakfast, lunch, and dinner provided.

Sophie's Voice Foundation was founded in 2008 by actors Boris Kodjoe and Nicole Ari Parker in honor of their daughter, Sophie, who was diagnosed with spina bifida at birth.

Fans can place their bids in the auction at Charity Buzz until October 15, 2009.

    A world class athlete should have more class and show some restraint in her language. I believe we haven't heard the last of the penalties levied against Serena.,

    Well, if they don't penalise her further WTA and USTA will make total fools of themeselves and rightly so. Now that Justine is back she should be send for a long forced break to some good clinic…

    What does any of that have to do with her charitable contributions? I too was disappointed in Serena's behavior, but that does not take away from the much good that she has done and is doing for charitable organizations and causes. We have all done things that we wish we could take back (publically or privately). What does she have do or what punishment will be enough to satisfy those of you who look at her this way. My guess is NOTHING!!! She was fined, she apologized, and she is dealing with the consequences. If you are going to support her- do; if you are not- don't but please let this go.
