Ana Ivanovic and Caroline Wozniacki stopped the Yonge Street traffic in Toronto to play tennis in front of the crowds of people, as part of the latest stunt organized by the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour.
Street Tennis was an innovative way to kick-off the $2,000,000 Rogers Cup. Here’s the video of the exhibition match.
The tournament started with a scare for eleventh-seeded Ana Ivanovic, as she advanced to the second round after recovering from a set and a break down against world No.47 Magdalena Rybarikova, to win 2-6 6-3 6-2. Eighth seed Caroline Wozniacki still hasn’t played any matches at the 2009 Rogers Cup, having received a first round bye.
