Serena WilliamsWorld number one and top seed Serena Williams has come to be only two victories away from a record sixth Sony Ericsson Open title after beating China’s Li Na 4-6 7-6(1) 6-2 to reach the semifinals.

The 27-year-old Li raced to a 5-0 lead in the first set, and even though Williams won the next four games, Li took the opening set. The second set was decided in a tiebreak which Williams won 7-1. The five-time Miami champion was quick to capitalize in the third set.

In the semifinals, Williams could face a 20th career meeting with sister Venus, if Venus beats Iveta Benesova in their quarterfinal.

  1. Serena has gone through two big countries by herself,Russia in Australia,China in Miami who is next France,Spain or bring on the Serbs for a second round of beatings.
Serena is the true no.1 even Na Li alluded to this in her post match interview.

  2. Hey Alyssa, I’m not interested in your stuff. Ms. Marija set this site to talk about women’s tennis not for snake oil sales men to advertise for free.

  3. Carlos, every spam filter passes a spam comment here and there. When I notice them, I delete them right away. No worries.
