Jelena Jankovic signs with Chinese sports brand ANTANo more mystery. We finally know what brand world number one Jelena Jankovic will be wearing from now on, including the 2009 Australian Open which starts in just a few hours. As her contract with Rebook had expired, Serbia’s tennis star wasn’t allowed to reveal her new clothing sponsor until it was made official, but now we know that she has signed with Chinese brand called ANTA.

The sports brand has become the first one from China to sponsor a top-ranked women’s tennis player. Jankovic will exclusively wear ANTA sports apparel, shoes and accessories worldwide.

The ANTA design team has worked closely with the 23-year-old Jankovic to develop a range of sports products under the JJ brand. The range reflects the style, fashion and beauty of Jelena Jankovic, whilst offering the performance required by the number one tennis player in the world.

I feel very honored to be forming a partnership with the leading Chinese sports brand ANTA. I am delighted with the JJ range of products we have developed and I look forward to working with ANTA to promote the development of tennis and the ANTA brand world-wide.

If JJ likes it, I like it. I hope the outfits will be fun and glittery enough. (source: Jelena Jankovic’s official website, photo: Ralf Reinecke)

  1. I really love that she has done this. I tire from seeing the majority of players sticking to 5 or 6 main sponsors and all wearing the same outfits. She will have unique outfits and she will have input. They will no doubt be a little over the top and borderline tacky but they will also be fabulous. Good on her. The fashion wars are going to be very exciting this year with Masha, Venus, Serena, Maria K, Ana and JJ all trying to out do each other though its hard to top either Sharapova or venus in the fashion stakes.

  2. It could be really good because of the uniqueness, but I’m not sure about the beauty and the quality of the products since I don’t know much about the brand yet. Hhehe, I wouldn’t mind if it were a bit tacky, Jelena can definitely pull it off.
