"Journey to Beijing – Tennis celebrates the Olympics" features great player photos and exclusive interviews

The International Tennis Federation has released a 140-page publication called "Journey to Beijing – Tennis celebrates the Olympics" to promote the 2008 Beijing Olympic Tennis Event.


Over 40 of the world’s leading tennis players were photographed dressed as athletes from other Olympic sports.

The photos are accompanied by exclusive interviews on the topic of the Olympics.

Maria Sharapova appears as a rhythmic gymnast, Alicia Molik as a showjumper, Daniela Hantuchova as a sailor, Serena Williams as an ice skater, Amelie Mauresmo as a sprinter, Jelena Jankovic as a gymnast, Elena Dementieva as a softball player, Ana Ivanovic as a beach volleyball player, Shahar Peer as an archer, Lindsay Davenport as a volleyball player, Svetlana Kuznetsova as a snowborder, Nicole Vaidisova as an ice hockey player, Anna Chakvetadze as a javelin thrower.


The photos were taken over a six-month period at various locations: Barcelona, Beijing, Dubai, Indian Wells, Los Angeles, Miami, Melbourne, Moscow, Netherlands, Palm Beach, Santiago, Shanghai and Tel Aviv.

OMG, this is awesome! I wanna have one of these. Maria looks adorable! All-in-all, the pictures are great. LOL, Davenport looks like smashing a tennis ball with a racket. It's nice to hear that tennis is the leading sport for women worldwide, much more this sport has so many talented and, at the same time, beautiful and glamorous athletes. Anyway, I am totally excited to watch these high-profile tennis players in the Olympics' opening ceremony… i can't wait =)
