Roland Garros champ Ana Ivanovic received huge welcome in Belgrade

Fresh world No.1 and new French Open champion Ana Ivanovic was eagerly welcomed to her hometown by thousands of excited fans on Tuesday. The tennis star showed up on the Belgrade City Hall balcony to share the victory with the people who were cheering for her on her way to the Grand Slam title.
"This moment will be not equaled, I will remember it all my life," said an emotional Ivanovic.
"The last days have been a dream. I will never forget Roland Garros. When I heard the national anthem (Boze Pravde) I couldn't hold back the tears," said the 20-year-old. It was a special moment for me."

The happy crowd were holding banners expressing their love for Ana, and I particularly liked the one saying: "Ana you are my Goddess, serve me a kiss."
Last year after Roland Garros Ana was also welcomed, together with Jelena Jankovic and Novak Djokovic. Then, however, Ana had a runner-up trophy. (photos via Down the Line)

Do you ever go to these things Marija? Paint your face, make a sign?
Haha, no, I have never painted my face nor made a sign, I would feel ashamed to do that.
However, I would like to go to some of these gatherings, but still have never gone to because I'm not from Belgrade, and me and my friends have never organized ourselves to go to a welcome. I hope we will go some day.
