Serena Williams took part in the first ever tennis match on water, together with second-ranked men’s tennis player Rafael Nadal.
The event took place atop Miami’s Gansevoort South Hotel overlooking South Beach on its first day of business. The custom-made court was constructed in the 110-foot swimming pool set in the Gansevoort’s exclusive 22,000-square-foot rooftop retreat.
Sony Ericsson hosted this strange event to celebrate the start of the Sony Ericsson Open, one of the most important tennis tournaments. Serena Williams is defending champion in Miami. (via All Things Serena Williams)
