[...] So, what happened in Singapore? The Maria Sharapova Live! event has come and gone (see Regentville’s review of the event here), and now Singapore is dealing with its effects. To capitalize on tennis-mania, some folks are planning to bring a tourney to the country by 2009. (via WTB) [...]

Thanks for giving the other side of the story. I can imagine the situation. A few people presented it as a frenzy, and now the whole world believes it. I've noticed in the photos that there were not so many people at the exhibition, but I thought they came later... Hm... But what do you think, who are those who want to buy the auctioned stuff? And is it true that the tickets cost about $150, if that's true, no wonder so little people came.

Singaporean and a huge tennis fan here. I can't stand how the media reports as if the whole of Singapore went crazy over Sharapova. I can tell you, the majority of Singaporeans still do not know who she is, and do not care. And even a huge tennis fan like me, did not bother, even when offered free tickets (because the exhibition did not sell) refused to go, because I do not want to buy into her media circus that IMG creates for her
