Nicole Vaidisova ends season with wrist injury

Nicole VaidisovaNicole Vaidisova sustained a right wrist injury in her first round match at the Bell Challenge in Quebec City, Canada. She played against Czech compatriot Renata Voracova.

Top-seeded Vaidisova won the opening set 6-2, but lost the second set 3-6. Then, she received medical treatment, but afterwards the world No. 12 just waved to the crowd and left the court.

On a website about Nicole Vaidisova, there is a short retrospection of the Czech’s injuries during the 2007 season. It looks like this:

1. Cut finger (during Hong Kong exhibition in January)
2. Wrist injury
3. Mononucleosis/viral illness (since Wimbledon quarterfinal loss until US Open – almost two-month period)
4. Left hamstring injury (since the US Open until Moscow, pulled out of Stuttgart)
5. Wrist injury (during the first round at the Bell Challenge)
